Finance: According To Your Faith (FATYF) is taught by Minister Deena Marie Carr. Finance: According To Your Faith is a Christian financial education ministry with three primary goals. First is to combine modern strategies and techniques for financial and business management with sound Biblical principles. Second is to empower people with information and tools to effectively manage their own finances. And third is to be an objective place where people can come get information on how to manage their financial affairs.
Deena Marie completed her secondary education in the Chicago Public Schools. She is a graduate of Whitney M. Young College Preparatory High School. She then went on to earn a BA in economics from Northwestern University, and a MBA in finance from the University of Chicago. Presently, she is a candidate for a Doctor of Philosophy in ministry and finance.
As a partner at a major management consulting firm, Deena Marie specializes in helping the leadership of Fortune 500 Financial Services and Insurance companies develop cutting edge business strategies that incorporate the strategic use of technology to reach their goals. Yet, despite her demanding career and extensive travel schedule, she also balances motherhood of her adoptive toddler son with her abiding commitment to Finance: According To Your Faith, as well as her ministerial duties at Christian Heritage Training Center, her home church.
Deena Marie grew up in an environment that groomed her both spiritually and naturally. As the youngest of three children, she was nurtured in the Word of God and taught to strive for excellence in all that she does. Dr. Mary Trout Carr, Deena Marie's mother, established Christian Heritage Training Center Community Church, with her husband, Min. James L. Carr, Sr. at her side in October 1985. The Church is currently located at 160 East Marquette Rd. on Chicago's south side. Although Deena Marie is involved in numerous ministries within the church, every Sunday she can be seen seated at the church's organ or keyboard. She is a talented musician and vocalist, in addition to her gift as a teacher.
Deena Marie answered God's call to teach Finance: According To Your Faith in March 2005, with her first radio broadcast which aired on WYCA 102.3 FM. FATYF expanded its message to television via WJYS channel 62 in April 2006. And by October 2006, FATYF had moved from a local broadcast market to The Word Network, where it is now seen nationally and internationally via cable and satellite. In addition, FATYF can be viewed on the internet via Streaming Faith.
The ministry of Finance: According To Your Faith, featuring Deena Marie Carr, conducts seminars, workshops and classes for adults, young adults, teens and younger children. Deena Marie also speaks at churches and various civic organizations. She has recorded a collection of single and series set CDs and DVDs, which can be purchased from the FATYF on-line store; and on a limited basis through Christian bookstores in Chicago. Some of the most requested titles include: Building Godly Wealth, Signs & Seasons, Help God! My Spending is Out of Control!, Characteristics of the Christian Investor, Wisdom in Lending, and Debt is a Financial Instrument Not A Way of Life.
Deena Marie has spent most of the past 20 years in the financial services arena. She is committed to teaching people how to become the best stewards possible over their financial resources. Deena Marie is currently looking forward to the release of her book, Building Godly Wealth, and AIM Higher, the Christian financial journal which she will publish quarterly.
